The California Aggie, University of California at Davis newspaper
"How to 'fake it like you know it' Davis alumna shells out the keys to karaoke in new guide," July 28, 2008

"Ultimate Guide covers it all - even those obscure details you never thought about, such as the rules of "k'ettiquette" or what to avoid eating before hitting the ol' machine. Though jam-packed with quirky things she finds herself obsessing over, Lee said the book is centered on how to approach song choice and dance moves, along with how to make karaoke a "central social activity to bring people together."

KFJC San Jose public radio
Interview on "Thoughtline" a weekly magazine show by Robert Emmett (MP3)
Listen to the whole inteview! We wax poetic on singing strategies and why drinking is actually a bad idea at karaoke. Probably the most in-depth candid interview yet. It was great fun talking to Robert, and he even played "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" by Joe Piscapo acting like Frank Sinatra, which is NOT the Pat Benetar song.

"Bookbag" inteview, June 2008

Q: Why the karaoke obsession?
A: I just like to sing. It’s a very physical sensation, and the wind coming out of your pipes just feels good. After a rough day or a miserable break-up, or even when something good happens, I like I go out and celebrate life with karaoke. It’s the ultimate stress reliever, like yoga, but without the ugly stretchy clothes and boring chanting.

Book Review, May 14, 2008

"Hit Me With Your Best Shot is a short colorful book covering most aspects of karaoke. The book might have been better titled "Karaoke for dummies" because there's a lot of stuff in here that most karaoke pro's (singers and KJ's) already know. If you have a friend that's just getting started in karaoke, then this book is for them."

Schema Magazine, Canada
Novels, Books, and Literature Review, April 10, 2008

"You'll find pointers about conquering stage fright, picking songs that match your vocals, and moves that enhance your performance from mic twirling to kicks. And you know those times you're egged on to sing at karaoke and you can't think of a good song? There're lists of the best songs for all occasions."
